Animal Protection Voters knows that the laws that often impact animals and their guardians most directly are local ordinances. APV receives dozens of requests each year from citizens, lawmakers and animal control agencies in New Mexico regarding local ordinances. Whether they are looking for suggestions on updating their county or city animal control ordinance or need help drafting a new ordinance and educating their communities about the animal issues that affect them, we are here to help.
Though a law is really only useful when enforced, a law will only be enforced if it’s useful.
