Would you consider sponsoring Animal Protection Lobby Day on February 10, 2026?
On Animal Protection Lobby Day, animal advocates from across the state will visit their lawmakers’ offices and deliver letters encouraging lawmakers to support legislation that helps to protect animals and their communities.
In the 2026 session, our top priority is preserving New Mexico’s Affordable Spay/Neuter Law (passed in 2020). The Law provides essential funding for spay/neuter services, and since 2021, has generated over $5 million to reduce companion animal overpopulation, overcrowded shelters, and the public health risks associated with unvaccinated, roaming, intact dogs and cats.
In 2025, $1 million in grants from the Law were distributed as grants to low-cost and free spay/neuter providers to address companion animal overpopulation in their communities. Over $4 million is earmarked for future disbursement.
However, the Law will expire on July 1, 2026, unless the legislature acts to preserve it. APV will be at the Roundhouse on Tuesday, February 10th, advocating for its continuation.
To strengthen this event, we’re seeking business sponsorships from partner organizations like yours. Learn more about the benefits you’ll receive as a sponsor in the Animal Lobby Day Sponsorship form below.
