APV is committed to building an effective political voice for animal advocacy in New Mexico and it all starts with you.

Lasting, systemic change for animals is only possible with strong state, local, and federal laws.

And enacting pro-animal legislation requires engagement from compassionate, determined advocates willing to be the voice for animals in our government. Through advocacy, we let elected officials know that New Mexicans care about animals and want legislative leaders who share our humane values.

Throughout the year, and especially during legislative sessions, APV works to organize and amplify the voices of local animal advocates through:

• letter writing campaigns
• public testimony
• petitions
• and more.
